Can’t see Moonglow fret markers

Hey folks,

I’ve got an odd one here for you. I bought a warmoth neck that had everything I wanted, Clapton profile, roasted, stainless etc… except it had moonglow dots. No big deal, I thought. They’re a neat novelty.

Only… I can’t see them in dim light. Like not at all. This is a fairly dark roasted maple neck and what I need to know is whether to replace them (side dots to start) with black or white. Which shows up better, in your experience? All my other guitars have rosewood boards, so I’m lacking a good comparison point.

My initial idea was to go with a smaller diameter inlay, drill through the existing moonglow and set the new ones inside those dots so I could still get some glow if I ever bothered charging them but it seems I likely I will. It sounds like a neat touch anyway.

Got any pictures? How about before and after you've charged the dots under bright lights. Most glowy things only last half an hour in my experience, but you should be able to make them out even after they've dimmed. Are you playing on a pitch black stage? Have the light guy do something, you should be seen anyway.

I got a beautiful RM/RM neck and had MOP dots on the front, but black dots on the top of the fretboard. Mistake! On a dark stage, they're very hard to see, even against a "lighter" RM fretboard. Sounds like you're having a similar experience as I have with black.

I'm with Rick in asking for pics, if possible.
