I cannot find ANY information regarding the size of bushings for Floyd Rose Special and 1000 series Floyds.

I've googled a lot and nowhere is this to be found...

Does anybody know??

In case I got my hands on a cool Jackson Pro guitar or something, if I could swap the bushings out for OFR ones and put on a OFR or Gotoh floyd

These any good ?

That is Floyd Rose Pro.  :dontknow:

I'm talking about 1000 "Original" series, and FR Special.

Okay, sorry, I found the actual diagrams. Thanks  :glasses10:

However, I DON'T TRUST FLOYD ROSE.

On their 1000 series page , they have a picture of the ORIGINAL FLOYD ROSE.
I thought I was viewing the wrong page, but they have the EXACT same picture on Original Floyd Rose and 1000 series.
That's just so tricky of them! The 1000 series are crap.

All diagrams seems the same. But I've NEVER read about somebody just swapping the FR Special/1000 series busnings with OFR bushings?! And I'm googling stuff A LOT, really.

Another update

I always go by internet forums and stuff for information, often overlooking the actual manufacturers own homepage.

They state that most parts are swappable without modification... That helps out a lot, actually.

Still, why do they have the same picture of the Original and 1000 series? I wanna e-mail them and ask why they do that but couldn't find any contact e-mail... Gah. Hahahah. I guess I just suck at stuff sometimes,

Again  :dontknow:

I dont think it helps the fact that I'm running between the internet laptop on the top floor and drums in basement studio while recording AND trying to figure out stuff like this at the same time... The ADHD-o-meter is maxed out right now  :toothy12:

I doubt it's that you suck at stuff sometimes. I build a lotta guitars around here and have to deal with vendors all the time. It's frightening how pitiful many web sites and manufacturers/representatives/distributors are out of their depth. You call and ask a diameter of a part (assuming you even get contact information), and they'll say "it's chrome plated, and we have 124 in stock!!"

That's not what I asked, you goofy twit!

I have a couple of good-sized Drawers of Misfit Parts as a result. But, they come in handy. Somebody shows up with a guitar imported from Mexico by way of Japan/Singapore/Malaysia/Vietnam/Korea or from ancient days when it was allowed to manufacture things in the US and I might have something that'll fit it.

The thing to do sometimes is spread your bet. For instance, if you don't know a thread size you can order several different sizes. One of them will work. When it comes to small parts like bushings and screws, the parts often cost less than shipping and adding parts doesn't increase the shipping cost. They're lightweight and they throw 'em all in the same box.

Of course, then you'll end up needing your own Drawer of Misfit Parts, but you get the job done.

Heck that sounds like me a Misfit I have never did anything right the first time around.I hate to mail order thing's and get the wrong part or I goofed my self most of the time it's me I order the wrong part and keep them for a while then in the trash they go.The all at once I need to part I put in the trash so end up ordering again suck's too.

Yeah, well, unfortunately, experience is one of those things you don't get until after you need it. That's how drawers full of misfit parts get filled  :laughing7:

But, it is worthwhile to over-order some stuff so you can save on shipping. Fasteners, electrical components and wiring supplies come to mind.
