I suspect it's just independant genius, this guy was building "stick"-type instruments back in the 70's!

I agree, handsome guitars - but there's some snake oil for sale there, for sure, as well.  The "No tension neck" thingy... cripes.  These dudes who come along selling something that solves problems that don't even exist in well-built guitars, as if all guitars were barely fit to be held by human beings until this angelic creation came along...You'd think Mr. Bunker might be happy to let the workmanship speak for itself, but then, you gotta justify the prices somehow, when you don't have the marketing budget of a Fender or a Gibson or even an EBMM.

Hehe! Yeah, well, I spend some time each day on the political blogs and news sites and depending on what's going on I can end up feeling aggressive, frustrated, worried or resigned. Probably not good for me, but I can't seem to help it.

Based on appearance alone, I could munch one a dem Dave Laurance signatures. His tension free neck is some sort of bigger-better-longer-stronger steel that must be attached somehow at the butt and the headstock. I don't understand it - it seems to me like if the neck is just floating, ALL the energy of fretted notes just drifts off to the happy hunting grounds - the neck just holds the frets on? But - he's been building guitars a heck of a long time, and I doubt it's just "doin' the banjo", so to speak. I would really have to try one - in a way it's like the skeletal Gittler guitar but with wood to comfort your pinkies.

If you think of it as a continuum, with a single compressed "vintage" truss rod on one end, a double truss-rodded guitar in the middle and the Bunker idea all the way over the bell curve - he's just gone all-steel in the assignment of vibrations. Interesting, at least.

99% of the guitar industry is. Hype, Snake OIL, Ghost built guitars with a famous name on it.

never got a damn red fender strat for Christmas. Santa couldn't afford it so then and I prayed for one too and that didn't work either.
