I have highly figured buckeye burl that is making some very happy customers.  check out http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/hstrial-CaliforniaFruitw/StoreFront.bok    or see some of my videos at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIjg9nysSLA&list=UUXPmOES9OipR7-_TFppYgSA&index=1&feature=plcp.

This is one that someone just built on another forum. It does look super cool, but man it looks tough to work with.

No doubt. Grain never goes in the same direction for very long. I'll bet that stuff wants to tear out all over the place when routing it. Probably a pain to sand because of the varying densities, too. I've never worked with burl, but I know other figured woods present those kinds of problems.

Hate to be a grump, but do you have anything to contribute besides a sales pitch on your first post? We'd love to hear from you on some of your projects.

I don't like it. I was told that the recent Buckeye harvests have not been very good, and this looks just like some of the wood I got last year. It's all cream, with very little blue/grey. If you like cream, that's great, but it just reminds me of bad sapwood or something. This is what a good Buckeye top looks like.

Depends on the burl. Buckeye is like cork.  :blob7:
