Bridge Help Please?

Got a bit of an issue here with a little project I was doing. Someone (not me) made a mistake and set the bridge studs for the width of a tailpiece and not the TOM bridge which I had planned to then send the strings through the body. So I have an 82 mm pair of studs, and a 74 mm bridge. Helpful hey? So trying to rescue this situation the only compatible bridge I have found (I think) is the pigtail wraparound. NOW- am I still able to do a string through body in this case?

Frankly, it's all a big pain in the arse and I can't believe such a dumb mistake was made.

Here's a page with a bunch of bridge/tailpieces that might work: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar,_non-trem_tailpieces.html

The one that's labelled pigtail does not seem to have notched saddles. That's fine when the strings are solidly in place just a few mm away, but probably won't work with a string through.

The "Adjustable Wraparound Bridge" on that page might work with the string through, but I might go for the Hipshot Baby Grand which should fit the post holes you have. Not a string through, but cool.

The mistake made makes some sense. A TOM usually goes with a tailpiece. When there's just one it is usually a bridge/tailpiece which uses the wider spacing.

Could a Bigsby work with this mistake? Thanks for the advice Rich.

A Bigsby is just the vibrato part, it still has to go over a bridge. I'd want a roller bridge with one, but I don't think there are any with the wider spacing.
