I'm about to order a Precision body that's going to hold a couple of soapbars and I'm not sure yet if I'd go for the standard neck and bridge locations or that I route the cavities myself with the option of customizing the exact location of the route. I've done a fair share of routing in the past so I feel quite comfortable doing that.
But what's the deal with that guide hole in the middle of a body that I sometimes see on a body that hasn't had its pickup routes yet. Do all bodies have that hole or is it just on certain body styles?
I know I can opt for a laminated top but I just wonder if that's necessary.
