Blackheart Little Giant Questions

So, I'm about to pull the trigger on the rest of my guitar and just play it unpainted until the weather heats up.

Since I'm using a Fralin and a Dimarzio in a custom build, I'm thinking some real tubes would be nice.

I'm thinking a Blackheart Little Giant will fit the bill nicely for someone in my living arrangements (bedroom). I think I'll just order one from Musicians friend for $199 (Unless someone here knows of a better price) and eventually switch out the tubes.

1. What tube combos have you guys tried so far?

and 2. Will a bass guitar work into a blackheart? My younger brother has a bass guitar he needs to amplify occationally.

Lots of info there to include different tube swap setups.

You can run a bass through it, but at higher volume levels the EL84 starts saturating and you'll get a "fuzz bass" effect that you may or not be into...

BTW  $199 at MF gets you the head only.  Its $149 more for the 10" or  $159 for the 12" cabinets.

EDIT: Looks like I won't be ordering it tonight, since my dad firmly believes this won't be any better than my Line 6  :doh: I'm going to try to buy this ASAP, though.
