As the title says, I am wondering how does black matte pickguard look on black satin body ?

Does it look like this:

or does it look more like this:

The second one is mine.  I can tell you, that's a gloss pickguard, not matte.  Of course that's also with the protective plastic coating still on it.

Something to keep in mind is the black matte pickguard is a single layer, rather than a BWB sandwich.  So it's not going to stand out much at all against a black satin body.  If you're after a subtle look, that's gonna take you there.

So in fact it would look similar to this:

Hmm, I don't really like it.

Thunking about it, I'd say black matte pickguard works on non black body, but on black body it would really require BWB sandwitch, which is not available with matte option.

Maybe I didn't think this through before ordering, hopefully not too late to modify the order.

if you want BWB sandwich,  with matte top, the most simple way is just sanding it top using 1000 or 800 wet sanding paper, rougher the sandpaper, more matte look. but I think 800 should be OK .

I have done that on  pickguard, but why I do it is just to make it more easy to apply paint, like this one.
