This is my first Warmoth build and I'm sold. Their quality is second to none, IMO.

Anyway, it's been finished for about a month now and I just can't put it down! The raw neck is so smooth and fast and the guitar sounds fantastic. The tone sounds somewhere between Hendrixy and SRVish which is what I was shooting for (I wish my skill level could be described as being somewhere between Hendrixy and SRVish, lol!).

**updated with more pics**

PS: Ignore the block I used for the trem. I wanted to give it a try blocked to see if I liked it.

Sweet! Has a nice, warm, inviting look to it. Love that pickguard. I'm sure it plays/sounds like a dream.

Beautiful strat, congrats. I have a korina body and if and when I make it a guitar I will also pair it with a canary neck. The orange of the korina matches great with the yellow/orange of the canary.

I like Updowns pickguard shape. It reminds me of Tylers Elite pickguard and I prefer both from the Fender strat guard.

I think this is a common sentiment that a lot of folks have after building their first Warmoth.  At least, I know I felt that way too.

Great looking guitar!!! :icon_thumright:

Nice job on the pickgaurd!

Thanks guys! I saw this body and knew it was the one, but I didn't want to hide so much of the orange figuring under the PG even though I was prepared to. I happened across one of UpDown's builds with the cut out and he hooked me up with the template.  :glasses10:

Thanks, brother. I didn't take any of the back but I think I will. It looks really nice as well and the canary has some nice streaking. I'll take some today after work and update.

Holy carp! Now that's a piece of canary I'd like to own. Is it just the light or is that canary darker looking than most? Seems like most of the pieces I've seen in the showcase have a more yellowish tint to them...

Thanks for the new pictures!
What are you using to block the trem?
Yep thanks  :icon_thumright:
(Looks like a bit of wood) 3rd pic.

Yep ... just as I thought, beautiful back side too  :icon_biggrin:
You really have got a great match of body and neck there.

I actually have two blocks of wood in there, one on each side of the term. You can only see one in the photo though. The blocks hold it pretty tight and I locked down the screws. I don't use terms much so I thought it would be an interesting experiment. I actually quite like it.

That's pretty much what it looks like. Maybe a little extra contrast from the mid day sun but that's pretty much it.

I've noticed that a lot of showcase photos have severe yellow casts to them. The white balance setting on their camera (probably auto?) is often off. There was another body that I considered but it was really yellow. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be so yellow in person but how much less yellow? I didn't know, so I eliminated that one. I think I made the right choice. I'm loving mine!

I love the pickguard. Always nice to see something original. And the wood is beautiful. Very nice job.

Really like your build! The Canary and Black Korina really complement each other and I bet it sounds great!! Very Nice!  :icon_thumright:

Saw this guitar over on Strat Talk and was blown away.  :headbang: Choice of wood is excellent to say the least!
