Black ash strat with roasted maple neck

Hi

This is my first post, and my first Warmoth build. I wanted a personal twist on the classic black strat with maple neck and fretboard. I decided to go with a two piece extra light swamp ash vintage body, and a boatneck roasted maple neck with roasted maple fretboard, 10-16 compound radius, 1 5/8 nut, pro construction. The neck is raw, while the body is finished with a VERY thin layer of black nitrocellulose laquer (no pore filler), followed by a few applications of walnut oil and then finally Carnauba wax. This finish does not give much protection, but it gives a very "woody" feel, especially combined with the unfinished neck. I guess it might have an authentic "relic" look soon...

The guitar has:
Gotoh Kluson style vintage tuners
Tusq XL nut
6105 frets
Callaham vintage tremolo bridge and neck plate
Lollar Blondes neck and middle pickups with a Lollar special S neck pickup in the bridge position
CTS log tone pots and RS Guitarworks special taper volume pot
Mojotone Caps, 0.022 for the bridge, 0.047 for the neck, middle pickup runs wide open, 5-way switch
Copper shielding
.011-.049 D'Addario XL

The action is superb, I actually raised it above what was needed to avoid all fret buzz. I gave it a minor fret leveling and polishing, but fretwork was very good from Warmoth. The neck feels excellent, seems to sound a little bit darker when compared to unroasted maple, but that might be due to the pro construction. Pictures are attached, hopefully I can post some recordings down the line too.

Welcome aboard and well met!  That's a handsome axe.  Boatneck FTW!  You can seriously clobber the hell out of anyone who gets in your way with one of those guys.  Nice work.  I like that thin-finished ash body, too.  Looks like a keeper.

Thanks! Yes, the boatneck is substantial. I do like chubby necks though, both feel and soundwise. I'm trying not to order parts for a new project, this can be quite addictive..: Natural oil finished hardtail ash body with roundback vintage maple neck, and parchment pickguard? Anyway, sorry for the indoor pictures, the weather has been horrible here lately.
