overall what is better for vintage sound ? and what are the differences ?
i have a BKP warpig and coulden't be happier
i can't find any samples of the RG BBQ
only for the mule, and it is reminiscent of a 58 paf, which i love

there's 2 good samples of the BBQ on this page:

I personally DIG the PG Blues set.

The Waiting Blues
-middle position
Fishing
-Neck and Bridge Pickups
I'm Tore Down
- all three positions

There is two factions here:
One buy Rio Grande and adore it and probably won't buy Bare Knuckles because it's more expensive and has to pay taxes because it's made in UK...
The other buy Bare Knuckle because adore it, most are in UK and can even try Rio Grande, but want to know if it's handwould, can deal the magnets, over or under wound, etc...

So probably you're going to get two answers dfferent...

for one, the mules are MUCH more vintagesounding than the BBQ/TX set. that set is more like a hotrodded PAF set of pickups. more mids, more power, more grind, more grit. that sound, is Mules with a nice amp, but the stormy mondays are MUCH more that sound than any other pickup I know.

If you're looking for a more vintage sound, you should be looking at the BuffaloBucker/TX set, rather than the TX/BBQ set.
