Hey guys. This is my first post here on the website and I was hoping you guys could help me decide on a pickguard for my new Warmoth strat! I am stuck between the tortoise and the vintage pearl. Parchment might be an option as well. Does anyone have any picks or could they help me mock up some different pickguards on my guitar? The body and neck i recieved from Warmoth are amazing. I'm very excited and all i have left to decide on is what pickguard I'm going to throw on it! Thank you in advance for your help.

Solid swamp ash body with a quilt maple top.
59' roundback VM maple neck with an indian rosewood fretboard.
Gonna throw in a set of Mother's Milk pickups with a reverse routed, zinc baseplated, bridge pickup.

Flat black single layer, dude.  THat body's sexy as can be - why not let the wood grain be the star?  A busy tortoise shell or comparatively bright parchment or MOP pickguard will be too much for the figured maple to compete with.

Always wanted a reverse angled bridge single, but I already have one two  S/S/S guitars, another one is a couple guitars down the list. Sweet looking body though.

-1 on single-plies though. B/W/B is the way to go. I had a single-ply on my sunburst half-Moth Jazz bass for a while, and it didn't look good.

Best is what YOU like best. I would be tempted to use a white or parchment layered 'guard. Black is great too. Black with a white layer is very classy. It's too subjective to say "best."

To my eye, the tortoise or pearloid are too busy on anything but a solid color. Never really did like tortoise on anything other than a big old jazz box.

But best? Your guess is better than anybody's!

Single Ply White. It's simple and a classic. Allows the eye to go to the body instead of the guard. There is also single ply parchment come to think of it.

:icon_jokercolor: How about a CLEAR Pickguard  :laughing7:

You can go into the Strat body builder, here …..
http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Bodies/BeginBodyBuilder.aspx
Go though a build process of your spec's of your guitar & select what you have on your Strat ie: colour, pickups, knobs etc

Then can add the pickguard on top of that virtual body & select different colours available.

This might just give you a better / visual idea of how things may look !!

Clear pickguards can be nice, but on a strat you really need to put them on rear routed bodies because the control route is kinda cavernous.

Thanks Updown. Somehow both me and John missed that part of the body builder.

I'm pulling for the black pearl pickguard, with parchment PU covers (on order) and parchment knobs.
