Hi gentlepeople,

I've been offered a Hiwatt G100R for my Schecter Tempest that has been collecting dust for almost three years now. While I could use some cash instead, I do need an amp for upcoming rehearsals/gigs so I'm quite tempted to go for it. Ideally I'd sell the guitar and buy a Blues Jr/AC15, but it's proven almost impossible to sell :-\

However, I've never tried this Hiwatt amp and it may be tricky finding a store that has it in stock. The Youtube videos I could find sound pretty decent but if anyone here has experience with it and wants to share, that would be very helpful!

Cheers/KB

BY impossible to sell you mean... you want more money for it than People are willing to pay?

I get that.

HiWatt stuff is generally pretty good, but this one is sold state.  Personally I'd hold off and save for an AC15 or similar.  Alternatively you could take the trade, and then part exchange for a more desirable small tube amp.

AGWAN: Schecter seems to be pretty unknown here unfortunately... too bad, it's a decent enough guitar. My price is good.

Jim: Pretty much exactly my own thoughts... I gues I'll just have to try and find one to play and see what I think.

Schecters are good guitars, but they really play the metal card too hard. I think the average price new of a Schecter is around $900, everyone seemed to have bought one, and now want to sell it for around $700. I had mine on craigslist for 2 months (I reposted) at around $600. It was mint, with a molded case. I dropped it down to $550 and I got 2 emails of guys saying they were waiting for me to drop price. Obviously I think $50 is an odd amount for somebody to wait for it to drop, but it turned out the one was just a kid starting out with pocket money.

EITHER WAY, I can't see you walking away with too much $ from that Schecter. Like you said, pretty good guitars, just no name to back it up, and they are flooding the market.

I would totally play a Schecter... if it didn't LOOK like a Schecter.

Way too Metal, and I say this as a Metalhead.
