Been curious...whats the story behind the Turtle?

Was there not a policy by the late Mr. Ed Roman before he passed, where he'd charge you $200 if you wanted his name/logo Not on the headstock clearly visible to the audience. (If you let him spam yer neck he wouldnt charge you)

Well, $200 is too high, go ahead blast the headstock with the Warmoth logo/turtle. Heck, lets make it interesting...an abalone inlay turtle, see what I care! I'm not payin' no $200!  :toothy12:

I think an abalone turtle inlay on the 12 fret only would be cool, no other inlay but that!
I'd totally go for that, loud & proud.

Just a tidbit of culture here:  Many Native people refer to North America as "Turtle Island", I think it would not only be a cool way of putting the "W" identity out there, but culturally affirming as well. 

I think a decent design, and simple for production would be to just cut the perimeter shape, not all the interior sections, ala Gecko.

My fave is the tribal turtle, but these are just examples I found online.

Hey Tony, that would be really cool. This as a 12th fret inlay would be awesome. It's simple and clean looking. Flip the colors, white onto a dark board.

I find the gecko silhouette on gecko fretboards to be meh, so same with a turtle.  And for the Ed Roman thing, don't know if it's still in the Fender license, but I believe Warmoth can not apply a logo in the Fender location on the headstock.
