Bass string question

Question for my fellow 5-stringers.

I am finally putting the finishing touches on my Warmoth Deluxe 5, and made an interesting discovery ....

The body is set up for string-thru.  I have been using Ernie Ball bass strings since I began playing bass almost 15 years ago (talk about brand loyalty!), but have discovered that the "B" and "E" strings are tapered at the top, and when I run the strings through the body, the tapers do not quite make it past the nut!  If I string the bass through the bridge (like all of my other basses), the problem doesn't exist.

So, my question is very simply ... which strings do you guys and gals use to go thru-body?

Is there nobody on this forum that has a Warmoth 5, string through body?  Come on, I know you're out there!

Just buy a longer scale string set.

For extra long strings, I've been using Circle K strings and have been very pleased. (www.circlekstrings.com)  I really like their balanced tension sets.  Hint:  Try going a gauge higher than you're used to using.

While that may seem like an obvious solution, I had no idea such an animal existed.

I've owned 5 basses in my time : an Ibanez Soundgear 5, a Fender Precision 4, a Warwick Streamer 4, a Spector 5, and now the Warmoth.  All have been 34"scale, and all except the Warmoth have had the strings end at the bridge.

Hence, the question.

And thank-you Wyliee.  Hopefully I can find those strings here in the Great White North.  Like I said, I've been using Ernie Ball 130-45 for my 5 strings and 105-45 for the 4 strings forever ... never had a reason to change until now!

Usually 35" scales get "extra long scale" strings, but if you have extra string behind the saddles, you might need 36" strings.
Be careful about taper wound strings, however. I don't think 36" tapered B and E strings will work as intended on a 35" scale. The full-wrapped part of the string will bend over the saddles like non-tapered strings.
