This is my first Warmoth build, but it will certainly not be my last! I first ordered the body and all the hardware except for the pickup and tuners back in May. It took only six weeks to arrive in Ireland. I then ordered the neck in August and it arrived in October but I decided to leave it 'till the new year before I'd buy the pickup and tuners and any tools I needed to complete it.

Well, I finally have everything I need now, so I'm going to get started asap.

I also want to thank everyone who answered any queries I had before ordering :icon_thumright:

Specs
Alder body
Maple Neck (gloss finish)
Rosewood Fretboard (no inlay)
25.5" scale length
12" radius
24 SS6105 frets
Original Floyd Rose
EMG 81
Planet Waves Auto-Trim Locking Turners

Initially, I was torn between Dragon Burst and this finish. I made the right choice!

I was trying to create a "classic meets modern" aesthetic.
It's a pity they don't offer front routed Soloists because a white pickguard would have sealed the deal.

I'll probably remove this sticker before completion.

Very nice!  A true shredding machine, that will be.  Your first Warmoth build is always very special.  But so is your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.  :laughing7:

Enjoy it!

Very true, I'm already planning my next build...

That's gorgeous!

Looks cool.

On the all maple Strat, you might want to consider a chambered body as a solid maple body can be heavy. Just something to consider if you hadn't already.

I have considered a chambered body, thanks. I have a guitar that (I think) has a solid maple body and it's quite heavy as I do prefer something a little lighter. I wonder just how much lighter chambering the body would help reduce the overall weight though?

I missed the "all maple" part. I've never played a guitar with a maple body. Warmoth's wood descriptions describe the tone as bright. How bright is it compared to alder or swamp ash?

How much weight relief chambering will give will vary from piece to piece. According to Warmoth it seems to be 25% which is probably a ballpark average.

It can't weigh more than a Peavey T-60 (which was Northern Ash), I think I still have shoulder dents from that beast.

I feel your pain :sad1: I used to like having a heavy guitar but now I see no real advantage to it. I like the weight of alder, not too light and not heavy.
