It seems we have many threads that are questions to Warmoth trying to clarify something or another.
If we had a forum that these questions could be asked, and allow only warmoth to answer it would clarify stuff
plus if it is too stupid, or a repeat then they mods could deal with it and we wouldd get good answers instead of long discussions that are just guesses

Just a thought

OK fine
but a place with thee questions displayed would be like a FAQ for items not clear about product
Look at the current thread about the thickness of a 1 piece necks, can you answer that? are we going debate that?
one answer from Warmoth would be all it takes and then there is a data base about that question.

I think its a good idea in some senses. if not a NEEDED one.

like me. I'm a good 6 months out before I actually place my Order. I feel horrid Emailing Warmoth on an account I know will be responded to during business. when I know I wont be placing an Order then. or even SOON.

that being said I had a lot of Questions that took a lot of people a lot of time to answer. I'm thankful to them. but at the same time a low pressure (Low Pressure on them, they already seem PLENTY low pressure on the customer) environment for Warmoth Employees to directly address product questions at whatever pace they find pleasant seems like a totally worthwhile idea.

I don't see how answering questions on a forum is going to be less trouble for them to just answer e-mails. It would mean one more thing for someone to have to do, as opposed to continuing to do the same thing.
You shouldn't feel guilty for e-mailing them questions. That's what customer service is for. If you want to ask 800 questions and never order a damn thing, it's their problem to deal with and not yours. Every company has to deal with that kind of crap and it's not a big deal, i assure you. To the people working there, i bet it makes no difference whatsoever WHO is asking the questions, because their job is to answer them either way.

True. but my point is that they don't HAVE TO answer them. merely answer them if it so pleases them. as it pleases them.

It IS their job to answer questions. and I get that. but... many people may feel less bad inquiring in someplace more casual, like a Forum. than asking the company directly.

I'm aware it is essentially more work for them. but it also addresses a psychological stumbling block a lot of potential customers put out for themselves.

Part of the fun for me is the rabbit chasing and ensuing discussions.  By just reading the posts, there's a pretty good idea of what is and isn't an option, and who else does offer what you're looking.  Like said before, when in doubt call.  I've never felt like I was wasting their time.

I agree about calling, in fact I have one of those questions I will be calling about, My point is if they had a base of those questions, it would benefit them They promote this forum as a place to learn, so it would be a place for questions like the one piece fingerboard to be clarified, I can look at the chart and get the answer, but some guys cannot.
A simple, "a Once piece neck has the same dimensions as a neck with a laminated fingerboard" and it is a base of knowledge.

Sorry guys.  As per the guidelines, this is not an official support forum. sales@warmoth.com or 253-845-0403 are the official contact methods.  That's the bottom line.

And this is EXACTLY what I'd do in W's position.  These boards should remain unofficial.

You mean we can't have an area where we can constantly ask how far along our order is?  WTF

:laughing7: Not what I was pushing at all

ok, the Mods have spoken

You can ask me how far along is your order as often as you wish, and I will tell you 6-8 weeks out every time.

As far as a FAQ, we don't need it, thats what this forum is all about, the same questions in new threads pop up all the time and get the same or new answers from the same or diferent people all the time.

If people didn't ask the same questions over and over, what would be the point of this forum? Everything about guitars has been asked and aswered already. it's a big loop. I think old threads should be deleted, except Tonar threads of course

That's way better than going through all the thousands of posts that are years old, looking for an answer. So get involved and ask the questions......

I don't think old threads should be deleted.  While I get your point about keeping the discussion active and current, it just seems too much like burning books or destroying knowledge.  Keep the old threads.  If you don't want to read them, just ask the question again.
