also, what is their tonal properties and will there be more??

Yes, Cherry Wood does require a finish. The cell structure and feel of it reminds me of Maple but unfortunately, I do not have any real world experience with it as far as tone. These have been the first I've seen here at Warmoth and I think what you see in the Showcase is all we have of it.

Yep, cherry is very similar to maple, in more ways than one. It falls in the middle of the maples in hardness at 950 on the Janka scale. It cuts and sands and takes a finish like maple, no need for grain filler. As for tone, my cherry tele is very bright, with a lot of bite and very snappy like maple.

This is very cool that y'all are making cherry necks now, and quite ironic as I was entertaining the idea of a cherry neck for my cherry tele. So this is cool news for me.... :icon_thumright:

Don't worry - I can't find a maple total vintage neck in boat profile either.  Ah the price we pay...
