I just got the Jazz bass control plate I ordered.  I didn't order it from Warmoth.  Do they generally vary in shape from vendor to vendor or something?  There appears to be a gap.

That has been an issue with all of my control plates and pickguards. Rarely do they ever align properly.

You're going to have file the pickguard.

My Jazz-bass doesn't have a perfect fit (retrofitted with no-name pg and control plate) either but this sure is a big gap.  :o

I've had the same experience - but not that bad mind you.

you do have to fiddle with them to get them to fit.

Bummer. Is there room (if that's a cavity below the control plate and not precise holes) for you to steepen the angle from the bottom of the pickguard to the vertex, by shaving off some of the pickguard material?

Well at least I know it's a common thing now.  I think I'm gonna put the control plate over the back of the pickguard, trace the line, and the file the pickguard until it fits.

Yes and quite annoying.  We've had a handful of control plates from various companies and there have been deviations in the curve.  It makes it difficult to hit a moving target so the pickguard routs are made to fit the control plates Warmoth carries.
