If you're starting with a new build, I think most would recommend a two-point tremolo like a Wilkinson, but if you're looking to upgrade the stock trem on a Strat-style guitar, I bought and am so far pretty happy with the Boogie Rail as a replacement for my MIM Strat (http://www.boogierail.com/) after I'd seen folks recommend it here.
For me personally, I've had a little trouble figuring out exactly how to set the spring tension/find where the trem claw needs to be, and with basic string retainers/without locking tuners, full on dive bombs = no, but I think those are pretty standard considerations for any trem, and I'm just new to installing one myself. For most non-divebomb use so far the pitch return is much better than the stock 6-point was for me, and the overall installation was simple.
Right now I'm going back and forth a bit on whether I want to upgrade the trem block - the guitar sounds great unplugged so I know i probably shouldn't, and there's a lot of competing advice on the difference it actually makes, but where's the fun in leaving well enough alone?
Just because a trem is a 6 screw design doesn't make it inferior. You have to look at the construction. There are some out there with knife points and beveled screws. I don't know for sure but I haven't heard too many people complain about a PRS trem and locking tuners. I've had 3 and an aftermarket Mann and they were all just as good as the Wilkys I've had.
