Another use for Titebond: Vinyl LP groove cleaner

very cool--I assumed this was a joke and I was waiting for some humor; but instead it was possibly very helpful and informative if you still play your records.  Trout Mask Replica is the only vinyl that I miss listening too which I don't have a digital replacement for yet.  Have you tried this technique yet?  I'd probably practice on my old Styx Paradise Theatre album or Reo Speedwagon Hi Infidelity before I used the technique on something I treasured like Tim Buckley's Starsailor.  Thanks for passing on the tip.  Keep on Groovin'

Ha, I've got both.

Max, did your parents inflict those choice albums on you?  Life is laughably cruel  :toothy10:

Wow - there's a blast from the past.

I haven't tried it personally yet, my parents have some sentimental albums that went out of print that are filthy - we're gonna give it a go. I mean, did you SEE how much gunk he pulled off that platter with the titebond?  :o

I wonder if it would also be OK on the really old bakelite type LPs? My sisters have some 45s - a Beatles EP that's worth a bit for starters - that's made of the older stiffer material before the manufacturing plants moved over to vinyl.

As for me, I'd have to try it out on the "Wings at The Speed of Sound" LP. I knew I bought it for some reason years ago, damned if I know why, but to try it out with Titebond and test whether it works or not, would seem a  good use for that LP (you don't really have any reason to listen to it!).
