I'm looking to put together a tele pretty soon here with a Swamp Ash body and either a Maple neck/Pau Ferro fingerboard, or all Pau Ferro neck. As far as pickups, I was thinking about the following two:
SD 5-2 bridge pickup
SD P-Rail Neck pickup
Anybody have any thoughts on those choices, or better replacements? It seems the P-rails have gotten mixed reviews, depending on what the person reviewing them was looking for - for this guitar I'm mainly looking for versatility plus the ability to do a pretty standard tele twang on the bridge. I'm going to try to see if I can get the body routed to take a humbucker or a single coil in the neck so that a pick-guard change would allow me to switch if I wanted to eventually.
