Another nut question.

Looking to fix the nut issue with my soloist this weekend (all wound slots were cut too low). IF I can the TSUQ nut out without breaking it...I plan on just shimming it up.
I want to have another nut on hand just in case it cracks. Looking through the Graphtech page...I don't see any stock nuts that match my E to E spacing (around 33.8mm) 1 5/8 nut.
Does Warmoth use tusq blanks and cut their own nut from the factory?
I don't think I am skilled enough or have the proper tools to cut my own nut.

I would just get a Graphtech and replace it.

As far as I know Warmoth cut the nuts they install and so there may be variations. I would expect to see E to e 35mm.

I think he's saying it is a Graphtech TUSQ nut.

J.D.ROOST, I've shimmed nuts for the same reason and it worked out very well.

Warmoth cuts the nut slots here. We do not use a pre-slotted blank.

I can see he meant TUSQ. I just used Graphtech for short in my recommendation to replace it and it could be TUSQ or TUSQ XL. Either way I would replace it because the slots are narrower than what I would expect for spec. YMMV of course.

Thanks for all the help guys. Also good to know they slot their own.
Hopefully it pulls with no issues this weekend and I can just shim.
