Major suckage tonight... decided to haul it to a family thing, (my nephew plays, thought he would be there.) I've been running it at home through the FX return of my Carvin PB200 bass head, into the Celestion G12-70M of my Carvin X-60C combo. Which means, to play it I have to haul the rack + head + a tube combo (even though I'm not powering it on). Uggh. Should have just nixed that, but we hadn't really had a chance to play until the other night, thought this would be fun. Schlepping gear and a toddler both without a backup parent... not gonna happen again.
But it really underscored to me the need for some powerage. I'd really about talked myself into FRFR except that it doesn't really need to do much under 100 Hz, which eases the requirements considerably. Actually, I think 100 Hz - 10k is probably gracious plenty if all it's doing is modeling amp and acoustic guitar. Probably even synth would be fine with it too. But using it for a drum monitor kinda means it needs both headroom and deep bass and that top octave. And I'm not sure I wanna hault that.
