Is there a way, with either a standard 5-way switch or a 5-way super switch to have the following options on a Strat?

1 Neck
2 Neck and Middle
3 Neck and Bridge (in series)
4 Bridge and Middle
5 Bridge

Thanks.

yes but one of those combo's wont be humbucking. i don't know of a way with a stock switch, it may be posible but not straitforward. but this would be easy with a super switch. i don't have the time for a drawing right now, but stay posted...

Just change it to bridge - and - middle series and sure it's easy with a super switch and will cancel hum. It will not sound at all like bridge / middle parallel if that's your reason for avoiding it. You can also add a push-pull or change the function of your 2nd tone knob to put the middle in series with either the bridge or neck depending on what's selected.

He said it uses a standard 5-way and will do what I want it to do. Any objections?

yup! that works. wish i thought of it. the circle off to the side is the common.

there have been many varients of the 5 way switch

the lugs labeled as "A" in their diagrams are the commons for each pole

lug 3 goes to ground in the first pole, lug one goes to hot.
as far as tone controls you can either a.) use just one or b.) hook one to hot and one to the common on the first pole where the neck and bridge p/ups hook to, which may do something interesting in the series position. or c.) hook one to the hot and one to the middle pup, parallel wiring is brighter and having too tone pots in those positions will balance that a little.
