Almost done with my Tele Deluxe

I spent most of yesterday working on the Deluxe.  I didn't like the tortoise pickguard so I went back to the black one.  I'm still waiting for my LP style jack plate.

I'll take better pictures when it's done.

It doesn't sit flush.  I could take my Dremel to the hole, but I don't want to risk it looking like crap.  Also, I noticed that the jack contacts sit VERY close to the bridge tone pot.

I also like the idea of being able to use a right angle plug and looping the cable over the strap button.

The LP plate doesn't sit flush either.  :icon_thumright:

I took a rubber mallet to the electrosocket in my tele and it went in like butter. No drilling, sanding, or anything else.

As for the angled cable...I'm not sure what about the electrosocket would prevent that - that's what I was using last night on my tele and it seemed to work okay.

I have the Electrosocket in my Tele, and with the jack screwed all the way into the electrosocket, a right angle cable still works.  Could be the brand though.  Some have more clearance than others.

Jack screwed all the way in and Locktited with no locknut on back side (unseen).

You're right, the curved metal ones do not fit either ... another lesson learned.  Hopefully, the black plastic one will.

I can see how an electrosocket will work with a right angle plug if you take the nut off the jack and thread it in further than it should be.

On my last Wamroth Tele I used an electro socket, though it was a different one from the one Warmoth sells - it was actually a touch deeper. My right angle Planet Waves cables plug in just fine, I do the loop them around the rear straplock trick too. I don't see why it shouldn't work for you if my even deeper one is fine.

FYI for future use of that jack plate.  A little hammer work against a curved surface does the trick to match the contour.  I put them in a sock first to protect against scratching/gouging.  Second option, clamp it in a vise and tap it into shape.  Third option, if you know an auto body guy or machinist this will be two minutes of work to a professional metal worker.

I actually didn't use the nut on my electrosocket...I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem to need it.

Nice build, is that a vintage white body? Mine looks creamier than yours. Also, which pickups and neck are you using?

Hell right!

Hell yes! or Damn right! would've worked, but I love your reply.  It reminds me of Samir's (Office Space) awkward cussing.  Phrases like "This is F___!", "Mother S____!", and "Son of A___" were uttered.  Fear not Fernando, even when I don't know what you're saying, I know what you mean.
