FYI for future use of that jack plate. A little hammer work against a curved surface does the trick to match the contour. I put them in a sock first to protect against scratching/gouging. Second option, clamp it in a vise and tap it into shape. You're right, the curved metal ones do not fit either ... another lesson learned. Hopefully, the black plastic one will.
I can see how an electrosocket will work with a right angle plug if you take the nut off the jack and thread it in further than it should be.
