It's slightly heavier than maple, if that matters at all to you. There's a chart here that shows the weight in pounds per cubic foot of a wide variety of species. Some typical neck woods, with range depending on variety:
Maple 39-47
Mahogany 31-53
Rosewood 50-55
Ebony 69-83
Well, rosewood is obviously a top shelf tone wood - high end acoustics nearly always get a rosewood back and sides for instance. They say it tends to the warm side, compared with maple. Like mahogany.
