Which is better for metal on a tele style body with 2 humbuckers floyd, maple neck and maple board? I am a big fan of lynch, Reb beach and petrucci

You neglected to include basswood, which has been the substrate lumber upon which many a metal edifice has been erected.  Also, Reb Beach's signature models have been koa, also omitted from your list.

Well, the Lynch ESP signature model is maple, according to Sweetwater:

As such, if you are limiting your choices to the three species you've listed, the heavier, denser choice - walnut - would be where I would go here.  With no particular outcome guaranteed, and of course heavily subject to whatever pickup choices you make.

Go with the look you like....and pick a killer pickup.  If it is going to be painted...save some time and go alder

Alder has very little grain.  Thus does not need filling.  Solid colors best but a dark burst will work.

Swamp ash...lots of grain...pain in the A$$ to fill.  Looks great for burst or trans color.

Walnut...if you paint it I will hunt you down..... :icon_biggrin:  best left clear or small burst...

If I get alder.llehich is the coolest darkest green burst ..more dark green I the middle that burst into black..morr black..any advice.
