Went to the air show today, hot as hell, but it was a cool show.... :icon_biggrin:
The A-10 Warthog, awesome plane. But I didn't get any shots of it.... :sad1:Lucky #007 said:Nice shots! They have any demos from our current arsenal?
Nope, it's a Beech Super 18.... :icon_biggrin:big bob said:is that first twin a Beach super 18 ?
103 to be exact....Super Turbo Deluxe Custom said:It was hot as hell in Denton today.
Lucky #007 said:I love the A-10. It's a good kind of ugly and it's f***ing indestructible. I used to have a boxed set of Wings VHS tapes that I got from my uncle and one was on the A-10. Some of the stories from the pilots and the abuse that thing would take were awesome. One talked about coming back missing three feet of wing and he only noticed a slight pull to the left. Don't get me started on the cannon.
Cool, there were so many more planes. I have a few more pics to post, didn't get a lot pics, forgot the camera so I had to use my phone. But I have a few more to post didn't get them all up last night... :icon_biggrin:Black Dog said:Very cooool pics Doug...
I will pass these pics on to dad.
He would be going bonkers at this show.
He retired from Boeing after 37 years.
He is currently working with a volunteer team that is refurbishing a B-29.

that thing can glide missing like 1/2 of a one wing and 3/4 of the other or something rediculous. the big wingspan helps it do slow manuvers to give it more time to destroy one target. when i was stationed at seymour johnson they would come down from pope a lot, sometimes you could see them practice there signature attack maneuver. they'd climb vertically into a stall, flip over backwards and dive with the speed brake on almost perfectly vertically. they do this because tanks cant shoot vertically so they can attack from a safe position. now pope is being closed or thats the last thing i heard.
Nope no Spitfires..... :dontknow:ORCRiST said:Dan025 said:Lucky #007 said:I love the A-10. It's a good kind of ugly and it's f***ing indestructible. It can FLY with one engine, half a wing, and a few bits of the fuselage gone. Don't forget the titanium 'bathtub'. The only aircraft ever to be designed around a gun!
I don't think they're ugly at all, I think they look bad ass! Especially when they paint them with the sharkteeth.
P.S. Any Spitfires at the show? :icon_thumright:
