A tele bridge question

So here is kind of a strange question, is a tele bridge pickup symmetrical?

Here is what I am thinking about. If I got a left handed tele bridge, could I just rotate a tele pickup so that if still fit in the same spot? Or is there such a thing as a left handed tele pickup? My gut instinct says that you just take the pickup and turn it 90 degrees and there you go, but who knows, I don't know much about pickups other than that I like some and don't like others.

Some are, some aren't.  The Gotoh 6-saddle standard-mount bridge is symmetrical, apart from the slant of the pickup hole.  The Fender 6-saddle ashtray bridge is, but I have seen some specimens (can't recall what brands) where the turned up sides of the 'ashtray' are cut asymmetrically.

I have a Fender ashtray I'll shoot to you for cheap if you need it.

Well, for you to rotate it 90 degrees would mean it's mounted at 45 degrees, which it isn't.  But to answer your question, it will work.  Tele pickups are neither right handed or lefthanded.  They just are.  I'm righthanded, play righthanded, and have lefty orientation bridge on one of my Teles.

When ordering, I had the lefthanded route super-imposed over the righthanded route for the usual $45 upcharge.

Sorry, I think my question was confusing. Plus the fact that this is in the hardware section is probably a wrong placement on my part.

I'm not actually talking about the bridge, but rather just the pickup. I think STDC got it anyway though. I was wondering if tele pickups were oriented in any special way, or if the same pickup would work in either a left handed or right handed bridge.

Sorry I was mostly just confusing...
