So, back in the day (20+ years ago) - a buddy of mine bought a Charvel - he was a casual player and I kind of borrowed it from him when he quit playing.
Besides the neck, I really loved the trem on it - its a Jackson JT6 tremolo (or vibrato for the anally retentive out there
), a FR licensed variant, and while the guitar was parted out and I really dont remember what happened to it, I still have the complete trem sans the locking nut. I always loved it because the micro-tuners were aligned horizontally with the strings so you could rest your palm without ever having to worry about messing with the conventional micro-tuners as found on an OFR. Anyways, I'd love to put it on another guitar - but it was black originally, but with time and use the black has started to wear off.
Have any of you guys ever had a similar issue and wanted your hardware "refinished"? I was thinking about taking it apart and having its various parts sent off to get them anodized (maybe powder-coated?) or something, just wondering if any of you have heard of, or done something similar yourself and/or if any of you out there have recommendations...?
Thanks!
