It's a Vigier guitar, and they advertise their proprietary "metal alloy" fingerboard. I've made a few fretless guitars in the conventional way (YANK) and I always found that the unwound strings had poor sustain. Some people advocate using your fingernails to get them to ring. I have another guitar all de-fretted that just needs some epoxy filling in the fret slots, but I want to figure out a bridge that lets me put five wound strings only on there. It doesn't need to be compensated, just curved to match the neck radius. It's a maple-bodied Aria Pro II. Like everything else guitar, these guys have their own religion, with websites, gurus, fetish objects etc.

Govan is a monster, he's got a nice blurb in the March 2010 Premier Guitar mag.
