A Korina Meadowhawk Build

I ordered a Korina Meadowhawk body from the showcase when they dropped, and then a little later ordered a custom Wenge/Ebony neck for it. While waiting for the neck to arrive I started the TruOil process on the body and ordered the hardware. The neck arrived the other day so I figured I would share my progress with anyone that’s interested. I will keep the neck raw and burnish it at some point.

The tuners will be Gotoh Magnum Locking to go with a Gotoh EV510TS-LS Trem. I normally prefer a Vegatrem, but wanted to try this Gotoh Trem out.

I have a Railhammer Kyle Shutt Humcutter for the neck and the Bob Balch Humbucker for the bridge (Maybe I should call this the StonerHawk?). Think I’m gonna go with a PTB Wiring setup, as I just wired up a PTB for an older Strat build and really like it. Somehow makes more sense to me than usual tone pot wirings.

Normally I am just a lurker and a liker on this forum and this is the first time posting any work of my own. Please be gentle.

Wow, that black korina has some beautiful wood grain to it. Looks to be a great setup.

Curious on the pups. Are those Railhammers, and if so, which ones, and why those? I'm considering their pups for a build.

Yes they are Railhammers. It is the Kyle Shutt (the Sword) humcutter in the neck and the Bob Balch (Fu Manchu) humbucker for the bridge. I am a big fan of stoner rock and wanted to put something together to reflect that, but also wanted something a little different. When I stumbled onto the Railhammer site and saw they had the Bob Balch humbucker I figured that was a great place to start, as Fu Manchu is one of my favorite bands. I could have gone with their Bob Balch neck humbucker as well, but I wanted to see what the Railhammer humcutter was all about. I like the early Sword albums so I decided the Kyle Shutt was perfect for the neck.
