Hello fellow Warmothians,

This is my first post here and I thought I'll start with my first build from Warmoth parts, which came together in august last year. Now I finally had the time to make some photos and share them with the community! :)

I also ordered a tremcover in black/red/black.

I found this to be a project, where mixed color hardware would look good, so everything touching the red paint is black, everything else is chrome except for a few details in anodized red.

- Tuners are Gotoh Magnum lock.

- Pickup is a Seymour Duncan '78 Model wired with a 500k pot.

- The trem is a Schaller Lockmeister: I didn't like the thought of ordering an Original Floyd Rose from the USA, when it's made here in germany anyway. Also the Schaller was less expensive here and I could order it with a 16 inch (brigde) radius and a 10 inch radius R3 nut.

- Since the guitar is already tuned to D the EVH D-Tuna is really a "C-Tuna
".

- I had a hard time finding a trem stopper, so I had a colleage make me one! He nailed it!

Warmoth really nailed that off-menu paintjob. I mean; it's absolutely needless to say, that this guitar was meant to play a huge variety of styles. (Aaron plays a Van Halen Riff)

But I seriously didn't plan to let the color scheme reflect that, I just always loved the combination of black & red! :ROFLMAO: But now it does and I like that as a nod to Eddie.

Finally, this is what it looks like on me, I love that it makes me look taller! :ROFLMAO:

And it sounds and plays awesome, at least 78 7/8 times better than every guitar I owned before!

That turned out great! I really appreciate your attention to detail. Thanks for sharing all the terrific pics + info.

Super nice! How do you like the ‘78 model?
Strangely, in the beginning I found it way too soft and I - pls don't hit me - even changed the magnet for a while. But not for long, it's back to factory specs and I love it, it's really fun to do squeals and pinch harmonics.

Don't understand why I didn't like it from the start! :ROFLMAO:

Awesome build, never would have thought to do a Candy Red.

The off menu thing is so funny to me… I’d be more inclined to buy that as a return from the showcase than any of the green burst colors. Besides, I can’t be the only one that throws out all of those little warning papers and immediately shreds open the packaging on Warmoth delivery day!
