7/8 body and neck - Fret extension and access to higher frets

I'm planning a 7/8 Tele body with its specific Warhead neck (24"-3/4 scale).
Do you know if the 24 frets neck (of this type) has the frets extended over the neck lenght? That is: do I need to ask the relocation of the neck pickup for the extended frets?

And what about the access to the higher frets in this kind of configuration?
Do you know at what fret number the rear neck plate rises (maybe 15 or 17 or ?): just to understand where the bigger thickness of the neck joint starts.

If I understand your first question correctly, the answer would be no. The intervals between the frets in relation to the overall scale length would not be in agreement; they can't just cram more frets into the same span of neck, the 'board would have to be extended into the overall scale length (toward the bridge) and over the body. -This being said, and to answer your second question, yes, I do believe you'd have to request the neck pickup relocation to make room for the additional frets/'board extention.

-Second opinions, anyone?

Actually, no. You will not have to ask for the 24 fret reposition on these bodies. The 7/8 series of bodies and necks were designed to be a "native" 24 fret 24 3/4" scale. There's about as much overhang on the 7/8 necks as there is on a normal 22 fret 25 1/2" scale neck.

As for the upper fret access on a 7/8 Tele, it's pretty solid. Again, about as good as you get on a normal Tele. If you're comfortable hitting the 22nd fret on one of those, you should be just fine hitting the 24th on a 7/8 Tele.  :icon_biggrin:

This is correct you can only order the 7/8 neck with 24 frets. It's not an extension or conversion neck whether 7/8 tele or strat.

If you drew a line up the side of the fretboard detailing the fretboard extension, it would just barely miss kissing the backside of the 24th fret. I'd eyeball it as a 3/8" extension. With the Jaguar, Mustang and 7/8 Strat, the access is fine. Oddly, the Tele is the one I haven't tried.
