1967 All original parts Super Reverb.  Finally got it paid off and out of the store today and on our way to play out with it.  This thing is so ridiculously amaze-balls!  Now my guitar sounds like 'vinyl' - exactly the tone I've been chasing!

Thanks to some of the guys on here for giving me some Fender amp suggestions to try out.  Soon as I played this one there was no going back.

Congregations! It looks very clean, and one of the all time great amps.

Ahhh thanks Tonar!  I was trying to remember your name since you were telling me about these.

It is indeed in pristine shape!  Apparently only had 1 or 2 owners and spent about 30+ years since the 70s just chilling in a basement studio.  I've played three different SR's and this one is by far the cleanest.

Thanks for your info and for an excellent amp recommendation!  It's great to be finally playing on a true classic.

Classic indeed. And getting few and far between. Congrats on finding/grabbing one! I'm sure you'll have a great time with it.

Congratulations.  Here's a little fun tweak-bait if you feel like going down the rabbit hole.  This article goes through settings that Derek Trucks, noted Super Reverb enthusiast, tends to use.

Thanks guys!  The next step is finding road worthy protection for this amp.  It's in such good shape, almost museum quality for how old it is!

Any ideas on how to find something like this for a better deal than $329?  It seems like the best type of case for transport but oh my... so overpriced....  :bass:

Are you really flying with it or going on bus tours?  If not I'd just get a nice cover and be careful when loading it into the van.

I'm with Mayfly on the case. Those flight cases are nice, but keep in mind that they're almost as heavy as the amp itself. You might find you need a hand truck and a couple burly guys to get it up/down stairs, and it gets tougher to find vehicle space. You can get covers that are more than the thin vinyl dust ruffles that Fender sells. Studio Slips, for example, makes covers/cases like these...

...and if you go to the site they've already got a quote started for your amp model. The material is tougher, the whole thing is padded, it's lightweight, etc. Plus, you don't need to spend $400 to get one. More like $135 or so.

Cagey, this is a great idea!  It looks like they will add side handles too - which would make for an easier trip up and down stairs.  We've got a fold up dolly with 150lb capacity so that should handle the rest.

Seriously considering this direction...

Just need to email them and find out if optional side handles would be load bearing.

Thanks man!

I thought I read on their site somewhere that they don't recommend adding side handles if the amp itself has a top handle. Not sure why. The top handles on those things are next to useless.

I agree!  The top handle is a very efficient hand mangler at best.  Here's an email response I got from them, which leaves it kind of ambiguous.

But I think he means it will be ok if we just use the handles for going up stairs.

Tough to say. They have a lotta pictures on their site, but I didn't see anything that looked like side handles.
