3 way switch with EMG's

I'm installing a set of EMG's (81/85) with a 3 way blade switch I purchased from Warmoth.  The EMG wireing diagram of the switch dosen't quite match up with the switch itself.  It's like the pins on the switch are off by one position.  Like the diagram has the furthest to the right set of pins on the top but the switch itself has the far right set of pins on the bottom.  This is with the spring on the bottom.  What I think I should do is reverse what they have diagramed, meaning start on the top and solder the first 2 (to the left) skip across and do the bottom 2 (to the right).

Either that or buy a new switch and hope it matches?

By the way, I forgot to order a cap for my switch when I ordered my hardware.  I ordered one from Stew Mac ( no minimum order) but it won't fit.  Anyone know where I can get one that will fit? or is there a trick to putting those buggers on?

There are two sizes for the switch tip (cap)...oriental and USA.
You will need the USA made one...try Allparts.
The top part of the switch (the bit that fits into the tip) is larger on the USA made (CRL or Oak) switch.

Do you have access to a multimeter? If so, I suggest test what connections are made with the switch in the three positions and go off that rather than the diagram.
