Hey everyone! :occasion14: I've started the ordering process of a Warmoth project after a long time thinking of ordering a custom guitar from some luthier etc. I finally decided to go with Warmoth as it's gonna be cheaper and high quality too. After all, I think it's very interesting to assembly my guitar on my own, actually I can't wait! Anyway I don't want to get tiring describing the case so here are the specs I'm considering:

Body
Stratocaster
Alder (core wood) - Solid
Ash (laminate top) - I love the look of it under the finish I'm thinking
Black-red-yellow finish front and back
Schaller Floyd Rose routed
H-S-S

Neck
Warmoth Pro Strattocaster
Maple neck and fretboard
59 roundback
11' radius
6230 stainless steel (small)
Schaller tuners
1-11/16'' nut width

Hardware & Electronics
Bare Knuckle Miracle Man/Trilogy/Trilogy
Schaller Floyd Rose w/ Brass big block
EMG SPC control

I want it to look like a 70s strat (think Ritchie Blackmore - except headstock :icon_biggrin:) but with a modern twist (Floyd Rose etc)
It's going to have a white pickguard and black pickups and controls (I love this look w/ the 3 tone burst finish)

Here are some images of what I've got already. I still have to get the body, the bridge, pickguard and tuning machines. So I still have a long way...

I wonder if Warmoth can make the burst finish with a wider black and red area so the yellow one is a bit smaller towards the center of the body. I really like it that way!

Thanks for checking!

Yeah I was thinking about it but since I tried that Les Paul...it was so comfortable for leads on the high frets, I was immediately sold to the rounder radius. :) I chose 11' here as the Schaller Floyd is 12' and the nut is 10'. I thought that as the strings travel from nut to bridge are gonna be around 11' for the most part of the guitar. Thanks for suggestion anyway!  :occasion14:

Welcome to the fold!

From a "saving a little money" point-of-view, I dunno that I personally hear enough of a difference between Alder and Ash to warrant getting a separate lam top vs. just going with an entirely Ash body, but if you were looking to get a unique choice top or do something like natural binding that requires a laminate top to do anyway, then I'm totally onboard.  Just in case you were looking for a random dude's approval.  :headbang1:

Thanks, glad to be here!

Yeah not much of a difference but it's enough for me. Ash lacks the amount of low mids I want. I've always had the impression that Ash is a bit "lighter" sounding (despite it's a bit heavier in general :P). It's Audio Engineer's attention to detail maybe I don't know.;) Actually the money are not much too. It's a $75 raise, that is 50 euros, so....the whole thing is gonna cost me around 1300-1400 euros, so a 50 euros raise is not much of a problem and once it's a custom guitar I'd prefer it to sound and look as I'd like in every detail.

Thanks for the suggestion though! ;)

On a second thought I ordered Alder without laminate top. Just for the purity of sound and all that.  :binkybaby:
