It's actually a bright idea - maple transmits plenty of mids and lows, but proportionately it also transmits a lot of highs, and many people can't figure out that
THERE'S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SOUND GOOD
by, ahem, cutting highs elsewhere. In general, I like to start with a trebly AND middy AND bassy signal (AKA LOUD) and roll off lows later on, with amp tone, speaker choice, old-age hearing loss etc. :guitaristgif:
