1 piece neck with Floyd prep not possible?

That may be an anomaly of the builder. There are a few, where some option has a pre-requisite or something that made it difficult or impossible to code it in. Just email or call 'em Monday morning and ask - you can probably get it.

If memory serves, Floyd prep is only on Warmoth Pro construction, which uses the double truss rod, which has to be placed in to a channel in the shaft prior to the fingerboard being glued on.

1 piece necks traditionally have a vintage truss rod, which can be installed via the rear, hence the skunk stripe.

I have only seen Floyd preps as an option in the builder on the Modern Construction, so quite likely TFS is correct.

I had to go elsewhere to get a single trussrod/wizardy neck with a floyd prepped slot. The upshot was it requires zero and I mean zero fretwork to get the strings down to very low height.
