1.700" nut width?

Anyone else, besides me prefer a 1.7" nut width over 1-11/16"?
I know, it's a small difference, but I really feel it. Just fills out my hand better.

OTOH, 1.75" is just a tiny bit too wide. So I'm kinda stuck... Anyone ever order a 1.7" from Warmoth as an off-menu option?

I don't think there's an off-menu option for that but you could ask

The difference between 1.7" and 1-11/16" is only .0125" or 1/80th of an inch though... I'd be pretty impressed if you could tell the difference between the two in a blind test

We don't do custom nut widths. The only ones we will do are the ones on the website.

I can play 1-11/16" just fine and it's not a deal breaker, but given the choice I would pick 1.650". It feels better to my hand, not just the width itself, but the string spacing too. It's amazing how perceptive we can be to these tiny differences.

Yes, it's incredible how different even the smallest difference makes to the overal neck feel. (does that sentence make any sense?)
Guess I'll go 1-3/4" nut width then and just go with a tad thinner profile, than what I would have gone with a 1-11/16" nut.

There's also variation among necks of the same width "class". technically, 1-11/16ths is 1.6875 but some come out to more like 1.693 or 1.694. You can usually see this on the heel in the neck photos.

Also depends on where you got started to, for me it was a classical with a two inch width. When I get below 1 11/16 feels cramped. For me the superwide with a wolfgang profile is goldy locks, though the 1 /3/4 feels nice too.

A lot of the 1 11/16” necks come out at 1.69” due to tolerances. This seems to be a matter of about 0.01”.
