Although the Seahawks are my least favorite team I must admit that defense is great, the offense is solid, and they’re playing on the west coast. Therefore:
Seahawks - 31
Patriots - 20
I think the last halftime show I watched was Prince. I’ll probably just be watching some guitar YouTube...
I was thinking I might make it out of 2026 without a build, but then I went to Fender’s design your custom guitar site and put together a Strat with bubble gum finish, a black pickguard, and white pickups and knobs. Might have to make one from Warmoth parts. Just got to find the perfect color...
MJT guitars has made (or will finish) checkered bodies. At least they have in the past. Also, Painted Player Guitar in the UK did a custom pink paisley finish for me on a Warmoth body and pickguard. Wasn’t cheap, but it was excellent work.
I’m still a Falcons fan even though they played in a dome for years, and now a retractable roof stadium. Not a fan of either. I’m an outdoor football purist I guess. I’m definitely not a guitar purist though. Haven’t owned a tube amp in years.
My least favorite NFL team just because in the 80’s on Sundays I would often unwillingly be dragged to my Aunt’s house by my parents. Often the 3:30 game on TV was the Seahawks inside the horrible, depressing Kingdome. So I’ve always associated them with just wanting to go home. Glad they blew...
The Dead are the band that sounded the least like I expected them to when I first heard them. Just based on their rep and artwork I expected way out there psychedelic tunes and found mostly folk or 12 bar blues adjacent rock n roll. I haven’t delved deep enough into to the discography yet to...
Warmoth surf green body. Musikfaft 10-16 radius maple neck with LSR nut, SS 90 X 55 frets, and locking tuners. Relic finish by MJT Aged Guitars. Aged HSS Manlius pickups with hardtail bridge and a pickguard I spray painted gold.
I’m a Julian Lage fan as well. I saw an interview with him once where he said he used the Tele bridge pickup only throughout an entire tour (just as a challenge to himself if I remember right).
Fender body circa 89-92. Warmoth all maple neck, 10-16 radius, SS 6115 frets, and TUSQ nut.
My parents got me my first guitar on Christmas of ‘88 (cheap no name Cort copy). By 1990 I’d gotten decent so for my 15th birthday they took me to the local store and let me pick any guitar in...
No time for KNS6 love while I’m putting together my 23rd Strat. I like the KNS6 okay, but the Strat is ergonomically perfect for me and I love the added contrast that a different colored / designed pickguard gives it.
Watched the Pavement movie this summer and discovered about 14 years ago Pitchfork put this as their #1 song of the 90’s. They’ve since made a revised list that has Mariah Carey’s Fantasy (remix with ODB) as #1.
