When I built my Warmoth, Wolfgang with 1-11/16 was my pick. I wanted a fast neck that wasn't flat. Hole in one, the neck for me.
It'd be neat if a Jimmy Page-esque profile was offered, a rounder C at the head that slopes down into a flat D at the heel. That's the kind of profile I've always...
When I built my Charvel I ordered the body without an angled pocket so I could deck it. That wasn't a problem. The problem was, with the bridge as low as it could go the action was still way too high and I ended up having to shim it. With a .5 degree shim and the Floyd decked I've got the action...
This one gets a thumbs up from me as well, although I predict if such an option were implemented it would not be as part of the standard configuration: First, so they can charge extra for it, and second, so they don't get complaints from people with an older body trying to order a new pickguard...
My one Warmoth build came out to $1200 Canadian, all said and done. A very simple build, yet similarly spec'd guitars from FMIC cost quite a bit more, and this one was exactly how I wanted it.
The more custom options are more expensive because they're more custom, you're buying them because...
I ordered March 8th. Ordered mine with Fat, Boost, Bright, Character and Bite switches, a Depth control and a PPIMV. To accommodate the customizations it has to be built in the Gargoyle chassis, which necessitates using the Gargoyle's PT, so the plate voltage is gonna be up around 500v which...

To me, the Wolfgang is perfect. It fits my hand exactly.
It's also worth noting that the Mustang switches are actually very versatile. As an alternative to the stock on/off/OOP switching, you can make one of them a standard three-way pickup switch and use the other for a tonal mod (out of phase, coil splits, etc).
The builder doesn't have every option out there. I've got some Mustang GAS and I've fired a few questions at Warmoth about off-menu options and they've been pretty receptive (although my request for a lower bout switch cavity was denied - maybe someday!). So I would definitely ask if a side jack...
