Turtle inlays are now a standard option!

Another fun fact: One of the coolest and least visited National Parks in the US is Dry Tortuga. It's about a two hour boat ride from Key West in Florida, and the home of the Civil War-era Fort Jefferson, which incidentally is where Dr. Mudd, who abetted the fugitive John Wilkes Booth, was...

Turtle inlays are now a standard option!

Yep, I know. But I saw a chance to tell my snapping turtle story, and I seized it! :ROFLMAO:

Turtle inlays are now a standard option!

There is a class of animals called "charismatic megafauna" and sea turtles fall smack dab in the middle of it. It's an easy sell. Among land turtles, I'd say giant tortoises also hit the bullseye. Little pond turtles probably hit the target too, but somewhere closer to the edge. They don't...

Turtle inlays are now a standard option!

Not officially, but I bet for big-shots like you we could make it happen.

Turtle inlays are now a standard option!

None scheduled as of now. But difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.

Here is a pretty thorough comparison of Warmoth's replacement necks versus Fender's.

New video: a LONG discussion with Lucas Fowler about all things Warmoth

IMPORTANT: let's avoid discussing the thumbnail. It isn't reflective of the video's content, which focuses exclusively on guitars and Warmoth. I will delete any post that mentions it immediately. The video is a 90-minute conversation crammed full of good Warmoth information. Let's focus on that.

    Ted Talk: Why Craft Matters

Nailed it. Stuck the landing. They always have an NPR kind of vibe, with all the whisper-talking, cringy half-jokes, etc. Maybe the worst one I've ever seen was Sting. Still.....if they ever asked me to do one I totally would. I guess you could call me pseudo-intellectually curious.

How close is the Blue Ice finish to Pelham Blue?

As with many colors, Pelham Blue is a bit of a moving target, but to my eyes Ice Blue has more silver, while PB is more blue.

    Ted Talk: Why Craft Matters

So.....I'm not the biggest fan of Ted Talks for a variety of reasons. The cringy jokes and canned-sounding laughter in this one are par for the course, but there are also some well-written passages and universal truths to be found in it. Particularly the guitar-building content. I would love...

Wood grain analysis increases value of famous bass guitar

There have a been a few times I've scrutinized grain patterns, or nicks and scratches, or other distinguishing features to try and tell if a guitar is what I think it is. It's fun detective work!
