I'm really glad you posted this. First off, your guitar is absolutely stunning! Secondly, because you used the exact finishes I'm planning on using for my next W build, and now I know for sure it's a great idea. 🤣
I love it! I always thought the Musiclander body shape was pretty underrated. And I love that you're putting P90s in it. It's going to be a killer guitar!
I always say it's a matter of opinion, but I will say that a rear routed Strat or Tele body doesn't necessarily work great for the 24 fret extension. They're just not designed for it, although people do it and love their guitars every day. I could see the Regal body having a bit of the same...
I could also see them being a bit more of a time suck if you had to, say, cut the slots on one CNC pass, and then rotate it 90 degrees to get the "L" cut going. And more time would most likely equal more money, which would then possibly cut down on demand even more.
Man, that guitar looks SO good! You absolutely killed this build. And the Suhr pickups are fantastic. How does the guitar sound versus your old Suhr Modern?
This is strictly from my experience, and is very much my own personal opinion. YMMV.
I have 6 Warmoth guitars here at home. I also own several Ibanezes (including a very nice Prestige AZ model), and I've had the opportunity to play 7-8 different Suhrs, as well as guitars by Nash, Paoletti...
Joe Walsh ordered SO MUCH stuff from Warmoth over the course of a few years. There used to be a pic in the shipping area in the old building of him playing a V he built from Warmoth parts. It was always super cool to see.
Yep, that's it. It was an LPS body with the Wenge/Ebony neck. His tech did all of the cool stuff on it aside from the inlays, and Perry gave him all the credit on the guitar.
Man, that guitar is stunning. Absolutely beautiful piece of work. I fell in love with redwood tops while I worked there, and I feel kind of silly that I don't currently have one. Must rectify soon......
