I just checked my american strat and its about 1.78" thick.  The .03" are easily taken up by finish.  The measurements were done with a set of dial calipers so its really accurate.  Hope this helps...

I was hoping for maybe a strat or soloist body that is maybe 1/4" to 1/2" thicker.  Something like the ESP lynch models.  I really feel like it would beef up the tone.

agreed... either that or just step up to a 17" radius.
