finish options for camphor burl lam top

Thanks! This is great news. I will definitely call them and ask. I would much prefer to have Warmoth do the finish for me.

finish options for camphor burl lam top

So I really want to do a strat with a camphor burl lam top with either an alder or swamp ash body but the problem I am running into is how to finish the back. If I order custom from Warmoth, they don't offer an option to stain or dye the back. The back would just be a clear gloss finish. I would...

    roasted maple neck anyone???

I know this thread is a bit old but I have been thinking about doing a build with a roasted maple neck and I came across this thread while looking for info on them. The no figured maple or unique choice option for roasted maple in the builder is something I noticed too. I sent them an email...

    Finished: HW1 Rebuild

I resaved them using photoshop, then re-uploaded and pasted new links to the new uploads. Hopefully, they are right side up for everyone now.

    Finished: HW1 Rebuild

Hmmm, it could have something to do with the fact that I used an iphone to take those pictures and I uploaded them to photobucket from a mac. I have heard that iphone takes pictures upside down or something. If the pictures are viewed on a mac or iphone then you won't notice but it can appear...

Huh? Upside down? They aren't showing upside down to me. Anyone else seeing upside down photos?

    Finished: HW1 Rebuild

She is pretty much done. I still need to level some frets and smooth the fret ends but I wanna let the neck settle for a bit first. That will be done on the first string change. But other than that, she is rockin' and rollin'! The bubinga/ebony neck feels just absolutely amazing. A real solid...

Where'd ya get yer skillz ?

I get my "skills" from all the helpful people here. Although, all my life I have always had an interest in taking things apart and figuring out how exactly they work and putting them back together. I also enjoy creating things whether it be building something, making music, cooking, etc. I don't...

    Warmoth Pro heel adjustment???

Yes, it does take a big allen wrench that was not included. 7/32" to be exact. I have only dealt with truss rods from the headstock so this was new to me but it turned out to be a cinch once I had the right size tool.

    Warmoth Pro heel adjustment???

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question but how do you adjust the truss rod on a warmoth pro neck from the heel. The supplied wrench they gave me fits perfectly in the side hole but doesn't seem to turn anything or fit anything in the heel position unless it is just REALLY loose but I...

    DIY pickup routing

And their such big balls, dirty big balls! I was pretty much right on with Bagman's philosophy, that if it fails, then oh well, might just have to spring for a new warmoth body.

    DIY pickup routing

I had already picked up a router when I made that post. I spent $70 on a Skill router. I just measured the cavity of the bridge and outlined the neck for the same dimensions with a razor blade. The route will be under a pickguard so I wasn't too worried about having a go at it myself. I think...

    DIY pickup routing

Well, if thats the worst case scenario, then sounds like its a win/win. :laughing7: And good call on the scrap wood. I will definitely practice first. Thanks!

    DIY pickup routing

So I took my pickguard off my HW1 body that I am planning on rebuilding with new parts. The plan was to put two pearly gates humbuckers in the neck and bridge. After I took the pickguard off, I was gutted when I saw it was only routed for HSS. I have taken the guard off before and coulda sworn...
