Forgot to mention, the body is (of course) poplar and the neck is maple. She has a finished weight of 7 pounds, 5 ounces.

Almost finished. Got to do some fine adjusting over the next few days. Not sure if I'm gonna leave the strap button on the neck plate, will have to do some playing before I decide... Engraver only charged me $10 for the neck plate. Feels like I've gone back in time 40 years!

Is building a complete Warmoth parts guitar still relevant for many?

Ok so I'll chime in here. I recently decided to buy a newer Fender Duo-Sonic because I had a '65 Mustang back in the day.... I searched for months for a white hardtail with the red pickguard to no avail. Then, a fellow player I know suggested I buy a Chinese kit. Doing a web search turned up...

First Warmoth body and neck has arrived - Mustang!

Wiring finished up and tested. It's wired like my original '65 Mustang. Waiting on neck plate engraving. I talked to five so called engravers in my area before I found one that would do it. Think I'm gonna set it up with 10-46 strings. Almost had an accident, was applying the Warmoth decal...

First Warmoth body and neck has arrived - Mustang!

That's the reason I lost interest in my old Mustang. Back in High School my little band played a sock hop (I'm 62 years old!) in the cafeteria under fluorescent lights and the noise was unbearable! Bought a used Electra Les Paul copy and that was that...

DiMarzio Injectors. My old Mustang picked up way too much electrical noise and had such a low output that I decided to go with stacked humbuckers. Plus, I got them during DiMarzio's Christmas 25% off sale. Hope I made a good choice.

Pickguard wired up, tested, and installed. First time I've done any soldering in years. I used the StewMac shielding paint in the body routs and copper tape on the back of the pickguard (forgot to take a pic before I installed it).

I hate vintage saddles. Those are stainless and came from eBay, seller gietarparts. They are the 10.8mm wide version.

Got the bridge mounted and, the pickguard and control plate screw holes located and drilled. Had to remove a wee bit of material from the neck pocket end of the pickguard to move it toward the neck a little. Otherwise, the screw hole at the bottom of the neck pocket was right on the edge of...

Started working on her this morning, got the tuners installed. Wow, that was far more labor intensive than I expected. The buttons are really close to each other on the small Mustang headstock, glad I went with locking. Think I'll call her Jenni after an old girlfriend.

Will be starting the build soon. Have collected most of the hardware needed, just waiting on a few things from StewMac.

Looking for longer 2" neck screws

Tried Ace and Fastenal, no go. I forgot to mention I would prefer stainless.
