Pickup and Q-filter just arrived from Wilde, excited to spend more time messing around with the wiring for this build, even if I end up sticking with a traditional setup in the end. Also, the neck and pickguard from Warmoth have shipped!
Looks great! I've always loved the Blackmore Sig but this makes me want to consider just making my own. Interested to know if you went for the extra touch of accuracy with making the middle pickup non-functional.
Whatever you end up doing, remember that the single most important aspect of finishing is patience. The best results will always come from more thin coats rather than fewer thick ones.
Personally, I would recommend going with straight up Tru-Oil. If you apply a ton of very thin coats it can get just as glossy as poly or you can leave it satin.
Got this short scale P-Bass body just before Warmoth closed for quarantine and I've been using my plentiful free time to get some work done on it. Body is roasted alder finished with 5 coats of tru-oil to a semi-gloss which I think gives a nice rustic, reclaimed wood type of vibe. Have a neck...
Ordered a showcase neck that was already fretted and had a nut on 5/12 along with a pickguard and some hardware, hopefully shouldn't take too long since nothing is custom.
