Hi folks,
I've recently moved and downsized and I am getting rid of 10+ years accumulation of miscellaneous small parts: knobs and switch tips; small electronic parts; screws, nuts, and other hardware bits; pickup rings and covers; trem and rear rout covers; jack plates; ferrules, &c. Some...
I appreciate your initiative and originality. I'm actually a fan of the Mooncaster neck. I've got three currently.
One thing to consider is the bevel on the lower edge, which some of your mockups might conflict with. you might have better luck with a paddle headstock? Although in that case...
This is not a great pic, but several years ago I put together a Warmoth Cabronita with a rosewood Musikraft neck. I think the pearloid (which has aged a bit at this point) looks pretty good and coordinates with the dots on the neck.
Hi folks,
I thought I would list this here before Reverb. I recently received this body back from finishing, but won't be able to follow through with the planned project.
The body is a Warmoth '72 P-Bass body (extra-light roasted alder, $315) with a custom '68-style paisley finish by Great...
Curtis Novak makes a PAF-style pickup in a JM cover. And he'll sell you a matching cover for your bridge pickup so the colors are the same, if that's important to you.

He makes a few other things in the JM form factor, too.
I've used his pickups and...
Free to a good home!
I've got an Acoustic B15 15W bass combo amp (Guitar Center-era, ca. 2015) that I'd love to give to someone who could use a decent practice amp.
It's like this one:
I'm in Pomona, CA , which is on the east side of LA County, and fairly convenient to folks in the San...
I've got a baritone conversion neck (28.625") on a fairly light Strat body with no neck dive. I think the fact that the upper horn extends pretty far towards the headstock, compared to a Tele, helps with balance. But... visually it seems too small to me. I've got an order in for a Warmoth JM...
Nice! I really like the Musiclander body. Very lightweight and comfortable. I've built two. You might experiment with where to place the rear strap button. I've got mine on the horn, but I kind of wish I'd put it dead center to pull the body closer to me when I'm standing.
Re: acoustic treatments (Moderators, if this should be a new thread please let me know.)
I'm lucky enough to be renovating a house and building a new detached garage. I'll have an office/workspace/music room in the new building. I have the opportunity to build it however I want. I've read...
When I first assembled it I had McNelly Autumn minihums. They have since been switched to Fralin Firebirds. I've also swapped necks between the the two Musiclanders since the avatar photo. Here's the guitar with a rosewood neck. And here's two pics of both Musiclanders. The Taos Turquoise was...
I've built two Musiclanders. (There's one in my avatar pic.) Both bodies were selected for light weight – both were right around 3 pounds. I've got one with a hardtail bridge and one with a Strat-style trem. Both are super light and comfortable. The hardtail is 6lb 3oz, and the trem is 6lb...
Enjoy! I love Taos Turquoise. (That's a Taos Turquoise Musiclander in my profile pic.) And the switching sounds very useful – a different way to set up 3 pickups with all the options.
Super nice!
What did the weight end up being with a chambered body? I love offsets visually, and for comfort, but they are always heavy for me. (I'm 5'9" with a bad lower back from an old injury).
I'm working on a chambered Warmoth JM that is currently with a finisher. The unfinished body...
